Scratchpad
The Scratchpad is a free-form text area that lives on your dashboard. It is always there, always editable, and saves automatically as you type. There is no save button and no formatting to worry about — just write.
There's one scratchpad per project, and it is persistent — what you write stays put until you change it. A snapshot of your notes is captured into your journal each day, so you have a record of what you were thinking about even after you've moved on.
Auto-Save
The scratchpad saves automatically as you type — there is no save button. Changes are debounced (roughly one second after you stop typing) and sent to the server silently. If you close the tab mid-sentence, the last saved state is restored when you return.
Scratchpad and the Journal
Whatever you have in your scratchpad on a given day is snapshotted into that day's journal entry under a "Personal notes" section. When you use the Copy for Standup button on a journal entry, your personal notes are included by default. You can toggle them off before copying if the notes were private or not relevant to share.
